A low‐profile wide‐angle scanning ultrawideband tightly coupled dipole array without any wide‐angle impedance matching layer

The present is a low-profile, wide-angle scanning, ultrawideband, tightly coupled dipole array that lacks impedance matching layer and lossy materials. Impedance will deteriorate at the lower end of operating bandwidth due to influence ground plane. A well-designed perforated balun used achieve better matching. Moreover, parasitic metallic strips are attached dipole's side add additional reactive components. According results simulations, array, which ranges from 0.67 2.83 GHz, its scanning capability, scans 75° in E-plane 45° H-plane, both good performance when voltage standing wave ratio less than 3. profile only 0.0581λlow above plane, where λlow wavelength lowest frequency. proposed array's simulated validated by fabricating measuring an 8 × prototype array.
